Newness of Life

Something happens to people when they get saved. GOD HAPPENS TO THEM! After God happens to a person he is changed. Only those whom God has happened to have any first-hand understanding of what happened to them.

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians 6:15: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 4:22-24: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1 John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Ephesians 2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 4:19: My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Colossians 1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

It is impossible to encounter God and be unchanged. People who have not been changed by God have no relationship with Him.

Psalms 55:19: God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

There are many passages in the Bible that illustrate the dramatic changes that God makes in a person when He saves them. The blind were given sight. Lepers were made whole. The deaf were given hearing. Cripples were given health. The lame were able to walk. The dumb were given speech. Blasphemers* speech was changed. Thieves became generous. All manner of sinful behavior was changed. These are merely external evidence of what God does on the inside of a person. Demons were cast out. Lunatics were given a right mind. Dead people were raised up. God doesn*t just apply patches to people. He changes them completely from the inside out.

Matthew 9:16-17: No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Be grateful for the changes in yourself that God has made you aware of. Ask Him to show you more of them. See to it that you do not quench them.

1 Thessalonians 5:19: Quench not the Spirit.
